bitter sweet

My scans came back clean today. Cancer free. The spots on liver they have been watching are just cysts.

Sweet.

I came home to find out that my cousins husband (same age as me) passed away today. He had been courageously battling cancer for years. I am happy for him the fight is over, but very sad for my cousin.

Bitter.

I'm glad that your PET scan came back with only cysts. I'm always so nervous waiting for my results. So glad you're feeling better.

Sorry about your cousin's husband. I'm glad he's out of pain, but I hate to watch another person die from cancer. One of my Inflammatory Breast Cancer patients just died leaving six kids, the youngest is 16 months. I just bawled, thinking of her family!

I am so happy for you that it seems you can finally have a breather from worrying and dealing with all this stuff.

My heart goes out to you about your friend. So young. I hope your cousin is filled with peace.

I'm glad and sad. Kevin was one of the most optimistic people I've known and dealt with his cancer with grace and faith.
We love you, Alisa, and are so glad about the good news.

I am also so sorry about Kevin. He was an amazing guy. His death is such a rude reminder of how terrible cancer is. I hope you have seen the worst of it.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your cousin and her whole family.

And rejoicing for you and your whole family. I, like Sonja, hope you have seen the worst of this.

That is sooooooo good news your clean. I hope it never ever comes back and that you will be clean for the rest of your life it has to be hard to see a person go through cancer and pass away and know they are so young but that the Lord will take care of that family.
Love ya

We wish we were there for Kevin's funeral. I am so glad he will be able to go to his sister's wedding after all... in spirit. Isn't amazing/gratifying that we have the eternal perspective?

Our guest suite has your name on it... :)

I'm so happy for you! I'm never showered and dressed before 7AM, let alone with breakfast cooked. Way to go. Love you.

When I checked your blog there were 22 comments on this post. Does that tell you how many people are checking up on you and love you? I know you might attribute that to big family, but I think it is cause you are an amazing person and a lot of people are wishing the best for you and your boys. (Including Josh ;-)

Alisa-I don't know if you would remember me, you took my first son's newborn pictures for us, and our first family picture. My sister came across your blog, I don't know how, but I have just been so emotional reading your blog. Your honesty is crazy. Thanks for sharing your story, I have been so humbled by reading your blog. In fact, the other day I was ready to strangle my children, particularly my daughter, and I came across a post of yours that talked about being jealous of people pregnant with a girl, and I realized how very greatful I should be for her, for every moment with her. Needless to say, of course I got her out of her high chair and cried for a minute. I am so happy to read the good news of your recent scan. I am sure the good news will keep coming! I REALLY REALLY hope that you get to live in your dream house!

I am so very glad to hear your great news. I'm sorry to hear about your cousins husband. I can't seem to comprehend that difficult path that some people have to go down. We love you guys and wish we lived in Utah to see y'all. Maybe when we visit this fall.
