Last night I wondered with Josh over the fact that I only had one or two comments on my last few posts. I thought everyone was sick of hearing about my cancer. Even my faithful commenters (Jennie, Buffy, Kathy, my mom) weren't saying a thing to me. Not that I blog for the comments, or think you should have to comment, I guess was just getting used to you all cheering for me (and if you have read A New Earth you will be screaming "EGO!").
Well I found a bunch of comments in my spam. It was a relief. I also broke down and listened to the 92 messages on my home phone.
Here are a few pictures taken before the haircut. It took 50 shots to get a few good ones. I will take some after shots as soon as my massive cold sore is gone.

Beautiful girl! Dont give up! You are awesome!
Loved the pictures and we're still cheering you on...in every prayer.
If that is an obituary picture, you must be planning on putting a picture of you during your younger years in...maybe to show what you looked like before you were a mother of the bride, a grandmother etc! You look fabulous with and without long hair!
You Alisa, are gorgeous. As always.
I don't comment often because I feel odd. We haven't been close for so long, and I never know what to say. I am cheering for you. I want you to live a long long happy life.
But I always wonder what I could say that would help, not sound trite, not be a moment of "oh, she suddenly cares about me."
I always remember our friendship with fondness, and wouldn't want to deny others out there the opportunity to be enriched by being close to you. You have so much to give, and I really root for you to make it... for your sake, for everyone who knows you, and everyone who has yet to know you.
Those are beautiful pictures, Alisa. I feel bad I didn't get to see the after hair cut in real life today—I just didn't know we had already invited my brother-in-law over for dinner.
Hi Alisa!
I have been meaning to get a google/blogger account so I could comment on your blog (which I admit is the only blog I read religiously because I am always wondering how you are). I know I email you sometimes, but I don't want you to feel like you have to reply because I know you've got better things to do. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you your pictures are gorgeous! Also, your hair is beautiful, but I am sure you look just as gorgeous with short hair, how could you not - look at you! Anyway, I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know I am always thinking about you and praying for you. You're amazing!
Love, Lindsay (Beesley) Barnes
You have always had awesome hair--short or long. I loved it when you were pregnant with Luke--short and curly! Good to see some pics! Love you!
Well, there isn't much more for me to say than... I think you are more GORGEOUS now, than ever! and, i mean that!!! I am always thinking about you whether I comment on your blogs or not... (I am a real pest, I probably look at your blog daily!) I want to see your new do- the truth is, you look good in anything!
Love,
Linds
You look beautiful and you are beautiful!
I love your hair long, short, thick, thin...I really don't think it could ever look bad. Actually, let's get honest, you could probably be bald and still look like a model!
Alisa,
You are absolutely stunning. Honestly... I can't think of a better word for it! I check back often to see how you are doing. And I love the way you write. You really have a talent! Your family is always in my prayers, and I want you to know that I am rooting for you! Stay strong!

I think I saw the shorter hair on that SKYPE we tried, but I'm waiting to see another portrait, those are the best! Love, Mom
We are looking forward to your after pics as well. How much did you chop? Also, it would be great to see you this summer when we come out in May. Are you game for a big Washburn bash sometime the end of May? Pencil us in. :) P.S. can you "touch up" my gained 10 pounds? You look stunning as usual! geesh.
I was going to call you and get mad at you, but seeing as I rarely get anyone picking up the phone, I'm leaving a comment to tell you how dumb you are for saying "obituary picture". You're such a crazy woman! Those pictures are beautiful. I want to see your new haircut, so get on that! :) You look great!
You are beautiful inside and out, you always have been. It has been so long since I last saw you and Josh but I cherish my school day memories in Bell View and Mt Jordan and high school which you were both a part of.
Don't give up, you still have a lot more life to live and many more lives to touch. You are an inspirational person.
I love how you're prettier than I ever will be and you're the one with an excuse not to be (aka cancer). It's just not fair.
alisa. i do believe the most amazing thing is your sense of humor. indelible. such a caption on that last photo! you will live a long and beautiful life (if not for so many other wonderful things) because you have such wit.
i love reading you on your blog. i await your posts with anticipation and continually cheer from you from way over here - in my thoughts and prayers.
bisous (kisses), emilie
You're gorgeous! Hope Ohio was fun.
I was waiting for you to post those pictures. The bottom one is my favorite.
I'm glad you checked your spam because I was beginning to think that you just didn't like my comments anymore! J.K.
Your pictures are beautiful, really. But I'll be really mad at you if this was an obituary photo shoot. Really mad. Should I say really again???
I Love your new short hair and I love your long hair. It would be hard to cut all that long hair off I have never had long hair so I would not know. You always look good no mater what you do. Your a good Mom to those 3 boys and a wounderfull wife as well.
Alisa. I don't even know if you really remember me from Ricks. But, I saw your blog through Mary's. And I was completely blown away at the news of your cancer. You have such a gifted way of writing. It's very honest and real. Now, I check your blog every once in a while to see how you are doing. Do you ever facebook? I put some pictures of Rick's on my facebook and their is one of you, Mary, Brittany and Jill. Can you believe it's been ten years? On the other hand, lots has happened... your pictures are great! You look as beautiful as ever! I'm rooting for you always! love, Macy (McCann)
you are just sooo amazing and beautiful with such a great smile!! love all the photos that you took and the one of Luke is purely sooo sweet...
yesterday my next door neighbor had something cancerous removed from her forehead. She's wearing a bandana to cover up the big bandage. Another man in our ward is in about the same stage stage of interferon treatments as you. Emilie's scare, Greg's cousin had a cancerous mole. There are so many people with skin cancer now, where two years ago, I didn't know anyone who had it. It's such a real thing now.
My kids pray for you in every prayer. On Christmas, Lauren prayed that your cancer would go away for Christmas. Love you Alisa!
you look beautiful! I really want to see the short hair! I think about you a lot!
love-
kecia
You are absolutely beautiful Alisa. I too agree with the others, you'd look good no matter what the hairstyle! I know jealousy is not a good thing, but I've always been a little jealous of you and your good looks and talents and amazing personality. I could go on and on. We sure love you and it was so fun to talk with you the other day. Don't be surprised if we just drop by to hang out.
