scan results

Just wanted to let you know that the MRI of my liver came back uneventful. The spot, the Dr. said is "not acting malignant." They will rescan in 3 months to be triple sure. This had taken a big fat maybe out of my summer plans.

I thought today while I sat for an hour in the hospital, anxiously waiting for my results. So if they say its not cancer I will be thanking and praising God. What if it is? If a blessing we contribute to God, what about a curse? Is my love for Him conditional on my condition?

I haven't had much energy to think this through, I just decided that His hand in my life has been great so far, and what he chooses for me will all work out. This is especially easy to say after clean scans.

If Gods in all the details, what should I make of only 50% of my tulips blooming this year? I guess Hes with the Dr.s on this one.

Take heart! I went to the Tulip Festival and it looked like only 50% of their tulips were blooming. And they looked scrawny like mine. I thought today how good yours looked compared to mine. I also have pondered praising God for good things -- not knowing quite what to think when bad things happen, but at least praising His ability to get me through the bad stuff.

We are so grateful for the results. He is in our lives and one day we will understand all the blessings we received. Even those we don't see as blessings now.

Don't stress about your tulips... you and I both saw how lame they were at the Festival!

So happy to hear about another clean scan... let's keep 'em coming! xoxo

I'm sure we can't use the success or failure of your tulips as any forcast anyway. Sounds like you had the wrong kind of weather for tulips.

Sigh of relief and a hip hip hoorah from my corner. I concur with the tulip festival comments. Not even professional gardeners were able to make tulips look decent this year.

Hooray! I have been waiting to hear the results! I don't really have any advice, but when I consider God's involvement in my life, I love the scripture in Proverbs 3: 4 and 5. I have recited it to myself many times! And, by the way, only about 30% of my tulips bloomed this year. What's up with that???

Alisa, I am just wondering when in the world you found the time to even plant tulips last fall with all you've been through!? You amaze me.

Congrats on the results - we are so happy!

Yay, great news! By the way, I subbed for Sam's primary class on Sunday. He said the closing prayer and asked that you'd have fun at Disney Land and Legoland. Are you going? Or he just wishful? He is a cutie and listened so well!

Alisa,
Good news..we'll take whatever we can get, right? Well, this year my tulips actually CAME UP even though they look awful. I kind of wish they hadn't made the effort. They look kind of leprous. I am embarassed, but then, what a weird Spring!!
God truly is in the details. We just have to sit quietly and look sometimes for His tender mercies and the small miracles that are in every single day.
Love you!

You have only been gone in California for 4 days and it has felt like a lifetime!!! I hope you guys are having a great time and we are all excited for you to come back home! Alisa,
So, over the past few days I've read almost your whole blog (that is really saying something because I usually don't have lots of patience for sitting at the computer). All I can say is wow. First of all--you take great photos! Love the picture of your son flying his kite, very impressed. Your boys are so handsome! I've really enjoyed getting to "know" you as well. And seriously, the day you got so much done, including potty training your son! Now, I'm only potty training my first, but I orginally started half his life ago and we are still working on it (though it is going to work this time--only accidents are still expected). As for cancer, we've both seen miracles and I couldn't think of anyone better to have a miracle. Keep it up!
